Prasad Wakchaure is an accomplished scientist specializing in medicinal and organic chemistry, currently serving as an Associate Principal Scientist in Oligonucleotide Chemistry at AstraZeneca since September 2021. Prior to this role, Prasad held positions including Senior Research Scientist at Recipharm and Senior Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at SciLifeLab Drug Discovery & Development. Prasad’s extensive experience also includes significant roles at the Karolinska Institutet as a Senior Scientist and Post-Doctoral Fellow, and a Post-Doctoral position at the University of Uppsala focusing on organic synthesis. Earlier career achievements include leading a team at Hikal Ltd, conducting research at the National Chemical Laboratory, and contributing to process development at Merck Group. Prasad earned an MSc in Organic Chemistry from Pune University.
