Joel Berry is the Founder of Astound Research, Inc., an internet platform currently in development that aims to assist corporate research and development teams in finding academic expertise to solve R&D problems. Prior to this role, Joel Berry worked as an Associate Professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham from August 2010 to April 2022.

Joel Berry completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology, Mechanical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1983 to 1991. Joel then pursued further education and obtained a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University, completing their studies from 1996 to 2000.
