Jonathan Calderwood is an experienced Grounds Manager with a career spanning over two decades in sports ground maintenance. Currently, Jonathan has been with Aston Villa Football Club since June 2002, overseeing all playing surfaces, including 14 natural grass pitches and 4 3G synthetic pitches at Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath Training ground. Prior to this role, Jonathan served as Head Groundsman at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC from April 2001 to May 2006, managing the playing surfaces at Molineux Stadium and Compton Park Training ground. Jonathan began their career as Deputy Head Groundsman at Old Wembley Stadium from February 1997 to January 2001, where responsibilities included assisting in the maintenance of the stadium's iconic turf during significant events leading to its demolition. Educationally, Jonathan holds a Higher National Diploma in Turf Science and Sports Ground Management from Myrescough College, alongside an NVQ2 in Horticulture from Greenmount Agriculture College.
