Joanne Merrick currently serves as a Trustee for Home-Start South West Kent, providing support to families with young children, and is a Co-opted Member of the Audit Risk & Compliance Committee at Westminster School. Holding the position of Chief European Corporate Counsel at Assured Guaranty since February 2021, Joanne previously acted as Group General Counsel for BGC Insurance/Corant. Joanne's extensive legal background includes roles as Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance at Ed Broking Group, Besso Insurance Group, and Piiq Risk Partners, as well as serving as General Counsel for Gen Re and Faraday Syndicate 435 at Lloyd's. Early in Joanne's career, roles included Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Trenwick Group, Company Solicitor and Company Secretary at Sorema UK Reinsurance Limited, and Insurance/Reinsurance Solicitor at CMS UK.
