Mikey Canup

Director, IT Infrastructure at AssuranceAmerica

Mikey Canup has a wealth of experience in IT infrastructure and technology management. Their most recent role was as the Director of IT Infrastructure at AssuranceAmerica, where they led a turnaround and stabilization of the company's IT infrastructure. Mikey was responsible for implementing a cloud migration strategy, planning, and execution, as well as overseeing a holistic security review and overhaul. Prior to that, Mikey worked as an Infrastructure Manager at AssuranceAmerica, where they also focused on turnaround and stabilization efforts, cloud migration, and security updates.

Before joining AssuranceAmerica, Mikey served as the Technology Manager at Global Franchise Group, where they oversaw cloud migration, acquisition integration, and the retirement of technical debt. Mikey also upgraded security standards during their time there.

Earlier in their career, Mikey held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, where they designed flexible and interactive spaces for teachers and students, modernized student information systems, and built a robust infrastructure to support a 1:1 laptop program.

Mikey also worked as the Client Support and Operations Manager at Visiting Nurse Health System, where they implemented technology asset controls, consolidated multiple data centers and systems, and revamped technology systems to comply with HIPAA regulations. Moreover, Mikey served as a Network Manager at The Westminster Schools and as a Manager of Client Support Services at CCI.

Mikey Canup attended Woodward Academy from 1989 to 1993 and obtained a High School Diploma. Afterwards, they enrolled at Hampden-Sydney College from 1993 to 1997, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Managerial Economics.
