Matthew Krcmarik currently serves as the Coordinator of Animal Programs at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since October 2021, following a position as Program Assistant. Prior experience includes roles as Endocrinology Technician and Graduate Researcher at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute from May 2016 to January 2021. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife, Conservation Biology from Michigan State University. Additionally, Matthew has worked in various capacities ranging from Conservation Science Technician at the Wilds to a Research Assistant at Michigan State University, focusing on behavioral observations of spotted hyenas, and has held teaching roles at Busch Gardens, educating students on species conservation and zoo keeping.
