Genny Ostertag has extensive experience in the publishing industry, currently serving as Managing Director at ASCD since April 2004, where responsibilities include leading the acquisition and development of over 40 educational books annually for K–12 educators. Previously at ASCD, Genny held roles as Senior Acquisitions Editor, Acquisitions Editor, and Associate Editor, focusing on professional development content for K–12 educators. Genny's earlier experience includes editorial positions at Penguin Group USA from May 1997 to September 2003, where commercial fiction was acquired and edited, and an advertising and promotion assistant role at HarperCollins Publishers. Genny possesses a Certificate in Publishing from the Denver Publishing Institute and a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Anthropology from William & Mary.
