Cathy Stephens-Hanson has a comprehensive work experience that spans over several years. Cathy started their career as a Teacher in Central and West Valley School Districts in 1997 and continued in this role until 1999. Cathy then became a Middle School Math Teacher in West Valley School District from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, Cathy joined Safeco Insurance as a Learning Specialist until 2004. After that, they worked at Whitworth University as the Director of Educational Certification and Career Services from 2004 to 2018. In 2015, Cathy also served as the Director of Race the River Kids Triathlon at Race the River Triathlon. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Instructional Design & Certification at Assessments 24x7 starting from 2018 to the present.

Cathy Stephens-Hanson began their education at Whitworth University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Theatre Arts from 1995 to 1997. Following this, they pursued further studies at the same institution and completed a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Administrative Leadership from 2003 to 2006.

In addition to their degrees, Cathy also obtained a certification as a Continuing Teacher from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, State of Washington, in July 1997.
