Engineering Manager at Assembled

Neel Kapse has had several work experiences in the technology industry. Neel is currently working at Assembled as an Engineering Manager, starting in April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Assembled as a Software Engineer from December 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Assembled, Neel worked at Hive from May 2019 to December 2020 as a Software Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented a distributed, fault-tolerant system for processing ML prediction API requests. Neel also developed new features for web apps and spearheaded the design and build of a system for combating scammers.

From July 2018 to April 2019, Neel worked at Bloomberg LP as a Software Engineer. Neel built frontend components in a web app and contributed to building a shared component library for frontend apps. Neel also implemented backend bug fixes and frontend refinements.

Neel also gained experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Bloomberg LP from June 2017 to August 2017. During this internship, they designed, built, and deployed an internal management console and integrated it with various systems. Neel also enhanced a Splunk training for the helpdesk team and reduced operational inefficiency.

In 2015, Neel had an internship at Authorea, where they did backend and frontend development. Neel worked on the "Import from Word" feature in the Authorea web app and engineered an improved version of Pandoc.

Additionally, Neel worked as a Sales Associate - Tech Connect at The Cornell Store from September 2015 to December 2015, and as an Intern Contractor at Synaptic Digital from December 2014 to January 2015. During their time at Synaptic Digital, they compared, tested, and selected email campaign management systems and worked on documentation for the chosen system.

Neel Kapse obtained their Engineer's Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University between 2014 and 2018. Later, they pursued a study abroad program at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2017, focusing on Computer Science and Philosophy during the Hilary and Trinity Terms.
