Amit Bhatia

Founder & CEO at Aspire Impact

Amit Bhatia has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and sectors. In 1992, they worked as a Financial Analyst at American Express. From 1996 to 1999, they were the Founder and Head of the McKinsey Knowledge Center, the consulting firm's global research center in India. Amit then served as the Country Manager for FreeMarkets in India from 1999 to 2003 and later became the CEO of Knowledge Services at WNS Global Services from 2003 to 2007.

In 2007, Amit founded Aspire Human Capital Management, a social enterprise focused on skills and leadership education, where they served as the Founder and CEO until 2014. During their tenure, Aspire Education transformed the lives of over 65,000 learners in India.

In 2014, they became the Founding CEO of Impact Investors Council (IIC), the industry association of impact investors in India. Under their leadership, impact investing in India grew significantly, and they successfully built IIC into a profitable industry body.

From 2017 to 2020, Amit was the CEO of The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), where they played a pivotal role in expanding the movement and securing G20 recognition for impact investment.

Currently, Amit is the Founder and CEO of Aspire Impact, an award-winning social enterprise focusing on ESG, sustainability, and impact measurement. Aspire Impact offers impact ratings to assess impact across corporations, non-profits, and financial institutions, using an independent 4P impact assessment framework.

Throughout their career, Amit Bhatia has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting enlightened social leadership, impact investing, and social entrepreneurship in India.

Amit Bhatia attended Mount St. Mary's High School from 1973 to 1986, where they completed their ISC (Year 12) in English, Hindi, Commerce, Economics, and Accounting. Amit then pursued a B.Com.(Hons) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce from 1986 to 1989, focusing on Commerce, Accounting, Management, and Economics. Finally, from 1989 to 1991, they studied for an M.Com. degree in Finance and Taxation at Delhi School of Economics.
