Murad Abdullayev has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Murad is currently working as Advisor to the President at the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) since June 2022. Prior to that, they founded ASNAK and served as the Chairman of the Board starting from January 2020. Murad also worked as an Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer at SOCAR Türkiye starting from December 2020.

Before their role at SOCAR Türkiye, Murad served as the Deputy CEO (Digitalization & Technology) at STAR Rafineri from November 2019 to December 2020. Murad had a similar position at Petkim, where they worked as Deputy CEO (Digitalization & Technology) from an undisclosed date to December 2020. Murad Abdullayev's education history begins with their completion of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Baku State University, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued further education at INSEAD, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in 2016. In 2019, Abdullayev enrolled in executive education at the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Technology & Innovation, which concluded in 2021. Currently, they are attending MIT Professional Education, focusing on becoming a Chief Technology Officer, a program they are expected to complete in 2023.
