Joe Hennigan has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Joe started their career in 2011 as a Supervisor at Oak Lawn Park District Ice Arena and worked there until 2018. In 2017, they also became a part of the Chicago Blackhawks organization as part of the Fan Development Team. In the same year, they joined the Community High School District 218 as a Substitute Teacher, a role they held until 2021. Joe also worked as an Assistant Coach at Prestige Travel Baseball from 2017 to 2020.
In 2017, Joe started working at the Chicago Blackhawks Community Ice Rink as an Ice Technician. Joe remained in this role until 2022. During this period, they also served as a Business Teacher at Vernon Hills High School from 2021 to 2021. In 2019, they joined the Chicago Bears as a Marketing Associate, where they worked until 2022. In the same year, they also began working at Rink Management Services Corporation's Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon as an Ice Operations Manager, a role they currently hold. Lastly, in 2020, Joe became a Youth Baseball Coach at the Chicago White Sox, a position they held until 2022.

Joe Hennigan attended Illinois State University from 2014 to 2017, where they pursued a field of study in Business Education. During their time at university, they did not obtain a specific degree. Additionally, in August 2018, Joe Hennigan earned a CEP Level 1 certification from USA Hockey. In December 2010, they obtained an AED/CPR certification; however, the institution that provided this certification is unknown.
