Derek Wurl has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Derek started their career as a Park Maintenance Specialist at Kearney Park and Recreation in 2008. In 2009, they worked as an Event Operations Intern at the Nebraska State Soccer Association, where they assisted in organizing youth tournaments and conferences. Derek then joined Levy Restaurants in 2010 as a Beverages Supervisor, responsible for supervising concessions stands and managing inventory. In 2011, they worked as a Ballpark Operations Intern for the Omaha Storm Chasers. Derek further developed their skills at the Omaha Storm Chasers in 2012, serving as the Visiting Clubhouse Manager, responsible for team equipment and organization. Later that year, they transitioned to the Ralston Arena, where they worked in Events and Facility Operations. In 2013, they joined SMG, Pinnacle Bank Arena as an Operations Supervisor before moving to Official ASM Global in 2016 as an Operations Manager. Throughout their career, Derek has demonstrated a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage diverse responsibilities.

Derek Wurl attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Sports Administration.
