Gary Weightman MRAeS CFS has extensive experience in aviation training and instruction, currently serving as a Ground School Instructor at Ascent Flight Training since October 2017, specializing in aerodynamics and flight safety for military trainees. Prior to this role, Weightman was the Chief Multi-Engine Pilot Ground School Instructor for the UK MOD Civil Service, leading a team and enhancing pilot training for all branches of the UK armed forces. Additional roles include serving as a Flying Instructor Pilot and Commanding Officer of VC10 aircraft within the Royal Air Force, where significant contributions were made to air operations. Weightman began training with the RAF after studying aeronautical engineering at the University of Bristol, and has held numerous positions throughout a distinguished military career spanning nearly three decades.
