Hirobumi Watanabe Ph.D.

Hirobumi Watanabe Ph.D. has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Hirobumi started their career as a visiting researcher at the City University of New York in 2011. Hirobumi then worked as a visiting researcher at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and as a visiting researcher at Cornell University in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Hirobumi pursued their Ph.D. at NYU Langone Medical Center from 2006 to 2012, while also working as a post-doc fellow at the same institution from 2012 to 2013. Hirobumi later joined Columbia University in the City of New York as a post-doc fellow from 2012 to 2015, and then as an associate research scientist from 2015 to 2017. Hirobumi then worked as a neural interface engineer at Kernel from 2017 to 2018, and at Neuralink from 2018 to 2019. Currently, they are working at Asahi Intecc USA, Inc. in the roles of upstream marketing and advanced technology research, starting in 2019.

Hirobumi Watanabe Ph.D. pursued their education in the field of engineering and physiology/neuroscience/biomedical engineering. Hirobumi first completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Tokyo from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, studying from 2004 to 2006. Finally, Hirobumi Watanabe Ph.D. attended New York University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physiology/Neuroscience/Biomedical Engineering. Their doctoral studies spanned from 2006 to 2012.
