Anandaroop Roy has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Senior Software Engineer at Artsy since 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Cartographer and Information Designer for their own company since 2000. Before becoming self-employed, Anandaroop worked at iXL from 1998 to 1999 as a Software Engineer and Information Architect, where they were involved in database design and development, as well as eliciting requirements and designing functionality. From 1997 to 1998, they worked as a Designer/Programmer at Radical Media, where they focused on interface design and development for web projects. Their notable clients at this time included Sotheby's, Xerox, and ABC. Anandaroop's career started at Bruce Campbell Design in 1993, where they worked as an Assistant Designer and assisted with various book design projects for clients such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Anandaroop Roy attended Dartmouth College from 1988 to 1992, where they focused on Mathematics. Additionally, they attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts, although the specific years of attendance and field of study are unknown.
