Amit Sheth currently serves as the NCR Chair and Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of South Carolina, as well as the Founding Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the same university, which was established as the first university-wide AI Institute in the US Southeast. Sheth is a recognized fellow of multiple prestigious organizations including the ACM, AAAS, AAAI, and IEEE due to significant contributions in areas such as information integration, distributed workflow, and data analytics. As the founder and board member of Cognovi Labs, Amit Sheth focuses on leveraging emotion and sentiment analysis to transform social data into actionable insights. Educational credentials include a PhD and MS in Computer & Information Science from The Ohio State University, as well as a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
