Sonya Yeung is a Senior Gallery & Project Manager at Art Basel. Sonya was previously the Head of Events & Marketing at The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (CanChamHK) from October 2020 to May 2022, where they were responsible for developing, planning and executing over 100+ virtual/in-person events, incl. 2 virtual conferences and 1 Gala. Sonya was also responsible for the marketing and communications of these events while forming new partnerships and maintaining stakeholder relations while maximizing business opportunities for members and partners across all channels including website, newsletters, eDMs, surveys and sponsorship proposals.

Prior to their role at CanChamHK, Sonya Yeung served as the Executive Director at TiE Hong Kong from January 2018 to December 2018.

Sonya Yeung has extensive experience in event planning, marketing, and communications. Sonya is a strategic and innovative thinker with a proven track record of success in increasing exposure and revenue for their organizations.

Sonya Yeung has a Bachelors in Education from McGill University with a Major in Art and Minor in Music. Sonya also has certification from The Royal Conservatory of Music in ARCT Performer's Diploma and PADI in Advanced Open Water Diver. Lastly, they are certified by the Hong Kong Education Bureau as a HK Registered Teacher.
