Matthew Warfel has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Matthew started their career as an Appropriate Technologist at Mennonite Central Committee, where they worked on designing alternative technologies for agriculture. Matthew later joined Unisys as a System Software Analyst, where they developed and executed test automation code. Matthew also worked at Cornell University as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on a project funded by the National Science Foundation related to wastewater and sludge treatment. Matthew then returned to Mennonite Central Committee as a Project Engineer, responsible for designing and constructing potable water projects in rural communities. Matthew's most recent role was at ARRO Consulting, Inc., where they held various positions including Vice President, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and ultimately Chief Technical Officer.
Matthew Warfel completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Appropriate Technology from Drexel University, between 1989 and 1993. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, which they obtained between 1995 and 1998.
