Joel Hunsberger has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Joel started their career as a Teacher at Belding Public Schools, where they taught High School Band, Physics, and Electronics. During their time there, they made significant contributions to the band program by introducing marching drill design and arrangements, resulting in award-winning performances and overall growth in the program.

In 1979, Joel joined Weltronic Co, Clare, Michigan as a Project Engineer, specifically focusing on Energy Management Systems. Joel evaluated the installation and performance of energy management microcontrollers and provided support for problem identification and resolution in automotive manufacturing facilities. This role served as a training position where they worked closely with experienced engineers.

From 1979 to 2007, Joel worked at Smiths Aerospace (now part of GE Aviation) as a Software Quality Assurance Group Lead. Joel developed and managed Software Quality Assurance programs compliant with various commercial and military standards, including AS9100/AS9006, DO-178B, and prior military standards. Joel also supported SEI/CMM and CMMI-based process development and improvement initiatives.

Joel then joined Parker Hannifin Hydraulics Systems Division in 2007, where they worked as a Software Quality Assurance professional until 2020. Their responsibilities involved ensuring the quality of software products and processes.

Currently, Joel is employed at Array of Engineers as a Consultant specializing in Aerospace Software Quality Assurance. Their tenure at this company started in 2021.
