Alexandre Amlie-Wolf has worked in the field of genomics and computational biology since 2011. In 2010, they began their career as a Summer Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where they investigated the role of tau protein fibrillization in Alzheimer's Disease and the role of stress in Alzheimer's Disease using cell culture and biochemical techniques. Alexandre then became a DAAD RISE Scholar at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2012, where they helped a Ph.D. student working for Professor Joachim Fischer and Junior Professor Mesut Günes. In 2013, Alexandre returned to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine as a Ph.D. Student in Genomics and Computational Biology. During their time there, they developed the open source INFERNO method for integrating hundreds of functional genomics datasets, implemented the HiPPIE2 pipeline for Hi-C data analysis, and applied INFERNO to a variety of phenotypes. Alexandre also gained experience in analyzing many types of genomics data and mentored undergraduate students. In 2019, Alexandre joined Arrakis Therapeutics as a Scientist II, Computational Biology and Scientist/Computational Biologist.
Alexandre Amlie-Wolf received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (High Honors) & Neuroscience from Oberlin College in 2013. Alexandre then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Genomics and Computational Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed in 2019.
