Gylen Boardman has a strong background in media and video production. Gylen started their career in 2006 as the CEO and Founder of Coriolis Media Ltd, a company they led for five years. In 2011, they transitioned to the role of Commercial Director at METERology and eHandS, where they focused on providing real-time energy monitoring solutions and health and safety management tools. In 2012, Gylen ventured out on their own and established Boardman Media, where they took on the role of Owner and Founder. Gylen later joined Arnold Clark in 2017 as the Film Studio Lead and eventually rose to the position of Head of Video in February 2021.

Gylen Boardman obtained an Audio Engineering Diploma from SAE Institute Glasgow in the year 2004. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they pursued their MA in Creative and Cultural Studies at the University of Glasgow. Gylen Boardman also attended Culloden Academy, however, no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for that period.
