Cheryl Long is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as a Fire Captain with the Arlington County Fire Department since April 2021. Previously, Cheryl held the positions of Lieutenant and Firefighter/EMT-III within the same department from July 2006 to April 2021, and also served as an ALS & BLS Training Lieutenant from September 2018 to August 2020. Cheryl holds a Master of Science in Fire Executive Leadership with a concentration in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Emergency Management Leadership from Waldorf University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington.
