Aimee Collins has a strong background in education, with experience in various teaching and leadership roles. Aimee is currently working at Ark as a Secondary Tutor & Programme Lead in Additional needs, Neurodiversity, and Disability. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant Head of Department and Teacher of English at The Hamble School, where they led on KS3 initiatives and strategies and implemented new approaches to teaching reading. Aimee also worked at Lakeside Special School as the Lead Teacher of Autistic Spectrum Disorder Provision, where they developed strategies and support for vulnerable students and raised attainment for pupils with ASD. In addition, Aimee worked as an English Teacher and ITT Coordinator at REDBRIDGE COMMUNITY SCHOOL, where they developed and delivered a engaging curriculum, led initiatives for 'More Able' pupils, and taught in an onsite provision for students with challenging behavior. Aimee started their career at Crestwood Community School as an English Teacher, where they planned and delivered the English curriculum and monitored student progress.
Aimee Collins has a diverse education history that includes various courses and degrees. In 2020-2021, they completed the PRINCE2 Foundation Course at Study 365. Additionally, in 2020, they participated in the Charity Fast-Track program to learn about charity work. For further enrichment, in 2019, Aimee attended a day course at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Continuing Education, focusing on writing picture books. In 2018-2019, they took a short course at Hampshire County Council to enhance their leadership skills in secondary senior positions. Aimee's higher education began with a master's degree in Education at the University of Chichester from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a PGCE Secondary English qualification at the same institution in 2010-2011, specializing in Secondary Education and Teaching. Aimee's undergraduate education took place at the University of Chichester from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a BA(Hons) in English and Creative Writing.
