Lee Fernwault, M.Ed, is an experienced education professional currently serving as an Education Program Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education since September 2018, where efforts are focused on recruiting and retaining educators through innovative programs. With a previous background as an Agency Owner at Farmers Insurance from June 2012 to July 2018, Lee developed operational processes and achieved multiple awards for excellence in agency performance. Lee also has extensive experience in educational leadership, functioning as Assistant Principal and Dean of Students at Phoenix Union High School District from June 2006 to June 2012, where key responsibilities included staff training, budget management, and community relations. Other notable roles include teaching business subjects at Tolleson Union High School District and serving as an educator at OMEGA Academy. Lee's military service as a Sonar Tech in the Navy laid a foundational commitment to discipline and leadership. Lee holds multiple degrees, including a Master's in Education and a Master's in Human Resource Management.
