Tom got his start designing laptop computer systems for Hewlett Packard’s Mobile Computing Division, and has since compiled more than 23 years of design experience. During the most recent 10 years, he has been providing outsourced design services to a large variety of clients. While working at Set Engineering, a Morgan Hill, California based product development firm as a design engineer and product architect, he worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from telecom communications systems to handheld, touch screen computers. Mr. Wood has been involved in development for quite a few well-known companies such as Dell, Elo Touchsystems (a division of Tyco Electronics), and Sun Microsystems, as well as many startups, including: Kestrel Solutions, Tasman Networks, Be Here Corporation, and Pano Logic. Special areas of focus: Handheld and low power design, racked systems design.

Tom holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seattle University, in Seattle, Washington.
