Ponchai Reainthong is a seasoned design executive and leader with a strong background in user experience (UX/UI) design and development, having held various leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies. Currently, Ponchai serves as the Director of UX at ARGO, a role he has held since April 2022. Previously, he worked at S&P WSO Software (formerly IHS Markit) as an Associate Director of UX from October 2007 to April 2022. During his time there, Ponchai also served as Vice President of UX Design from October 2007 to July 2009 while IHS Markit was acquiring JPMorgan Chase's Financial Computer Software (FCS). Recognized for his leadership, Ponchai quickly advanced from Principal to Associate Director, amassing over 14 years as a design leader within the company.
Ponchai’s career began as a Senior Design Consultant at Computech Inc., where he provided consulting services to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, D.C., and Disney from January 2005 to September 2007. Before this, he served as a Senior Design Consultant at Verizon from July 2004 to December 2004. His experience also includes roles as an Art Director at One Web Corp. (February 2003 to June 2004), a Multimedia Designer at Pier 1 Imports (September 2001 to January 2003), and a Junior Art Director at Vertis Inc. (April 2000 to July 2001).
Ponchai's educational journey reflects his dedication to the field of design and user experience. In 1997, he began studying at The Art Institutes, where he earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Web Design & Interactive Media, graduating in 2000. He continued at The Art Institutes, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media and Web Design, which he completed in 2011. In 2021, Ponchai further enhanced his expertise by earning a Certificate in User Experience Design from SMU Continuing & Professional Education.
Ponchai is actively engaged in the community, partnering with local universities and professors in computer software engineering programs as a sponsor, speaker, and mentor, leading to bridge the gap between UX/UI design and development. He leads capstone projects, fostering strong relationships between academia and industry and preparing future design and technology professionals.
