John Raes has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John started their career as a Coach at Royal Wellington Hockey Club from September 2009 to May 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Summer Intern at SWIFT. John then moved on to a Financial Analyst Intern position at Internet Solutions Kenya from June 2015 to August 2015. In 2017, they worked as an Investment Banking Intern at UBS, followed by roles as an Investment Banking Analyst and later as an Investment Banking Associate from July 2018 to March 2021. From April 2021 to March 2023, they worked as a Private Equity Associate at CapVest, where they dealt with various projects and served as a board member for companies such as Rodericks Dental & Dental Partners and Natra. Currently, they hold the position of Investment Manager at Ardian, starting from March 2023.

John Raes began their education at Sint Jan Berchmanscollege in Brussel, where they completed their high school education from 2005 to 2011. John then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics at KU Leuven from 2011 to 2014. Following that, John enrolled in KU Leuven again and obtained a Master's degree in Business Economics from 2014 to 2016. Later, in 2016, they attended ESCP Business School and completed an Advanced Master in Finance in 2017.
