Shamama Jafri has extensive experience in quality operations and assurance within the pharmaceutical industry. Shamama is currently the Executive Director and Head of Quality Operations at Arcturus Therapeutics, where they oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality systems.
Prior to their current role, Shamama held various positions in quality leadership, including Head of Quality Operations at Arcturus Therapeutics and Director of QA Compliance and Supplier Quality at Emergent BioSolutions. In these roles, they were responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinating supplier audits.

Shamama Jafri has a diverse education history. Shamama began their academic journey at St. Joseph's Convent High School, where they completed their high school education from 1966 to 1976, with a focus on science. Following this, they attended St. Joseph's College for Women from 1976 to 1981, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, and Zoology. Moving forward, Jafri pursued higher education at Karachi University, where they completed their Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from 1981 to 1984. During the same period, they also obtained a Certificate in Mathematics from Karachi University from 1982 to 1985. Later on, in 1998 and 1999, they attended Irvine Valley College to pursue a Certificate in Certified Quality Manager Preparation Course.
