Paula Hartman has over 15 years of work experience in various scientific research and project management roles. Paula is currently working as a Global Project Manager at Arcturus Therapeutics since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Research Associate at Arcturus from 2018 to 2021, where they managed small and mid-scale DNA production and cloning requests for company projects. Paula also managed two associates in this role.

Before their time at Arcturus, Paula worked as a Senior Research Associate at Synthetic Genomics from 2017 to 2018, focusing on phage engineering and molecular biology. Paula transitioned to RNA Medicines, where they were responsible for vector cloning, RNA production, and electroporation into BHK cells.

From 2014 to 2017, Paula held the position of Senior Associate Scientist at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson. Paula validated commercial ELISA assays, led efforts on developing an assay for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, and utilized HPLC/AKTA to purify samples and analyze ELISA results.

Prior to that, Paula worked as an Associate Scientist I at Dart NeuroScience LLC from 2013 to 2014, where they conducted cloning and small-scale expression validation. Paula focused on single nucleotide mutagenesis and protein production in E. coli and baculovirus systems.

Paula's early experience includes working as a Scientific Associate II at GNF from 2008 to 2013, where they cloned, purified, and modified proteins for functional cell-based assays. Paula also maintained HEK293 cells and utilized HPLC/AKTA extensively for protein purification.

Additionally, Paula has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Associate at UCSD from 2006 to 2008.

Throughout their career, Paula has gained extensive expertise in cloning, DNA and RNA production, protein purification, molecular biology techniques, and project management.

Paula Hartman has a Master of Science degree in Biology from UC San Diego. Prior to that, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego as well.
