Sophie Cleland

Principal Public And Community Design at Architectus

Sophie Cleland is a seasoned professional in public and community design, currently serving as Principal at Architectus since November 2018. Cleland has been an advocate for gender equity in architecture as a Parlour Advocate with Parlour Inc since November 2021. Other notable roles include serving on the Building Council of Open House Melbourne starting January 2024, and as Deputy Chair and Board Member of the Architects Registration Board of Victoria from July 2021 to June 2024. Cleland was also a Councillor for the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) Victorian Chapter from March 2020 to February 2024. Prior experience includes significant leadership roles at ARM Architecture from April 2004 to September 2018. Sophie Cleland holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from RMIT University.
