John Daiek is the President of Daiek Woodworks and has held a position on the Development Council of the Architectural Woodwork Institute since 1998, contributing to the Manufacturing committee and previously to the By-laws committee. From 2003 to 2009, John served on the Board of Directors for the AWI Great Lakes Chapter, where efforts were focused on promoting AWI values at the local level, including a role as Past President following reorganization in 2003. Early work experience includes serving as a mill hand at Dixie Cash & Carry Lumber from 1976 to 1978, which provided foundational skills in woodworking. John Daiek holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Central Michigan University, obtained between 1969 and 1973.
