Amrutha Pattamatta, Ph.D., has a diverse work experience in both academic and industry settings. Amrutha currently holds the position of Principal Scientist, CNS at Arbor Biotechnologies since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Pfizer, where they held multiple roles including Senior Principal Scientist, Rare Disease from 2021 to 2023, Principal Scientist, Rare Disease from 2019 to 2021, and Senior Scientist, Rare Disease from 2018 to 2019.
Their earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Florida from 2013 to 2018, where they conducted research on neurological/neuromuscular diseases and studied molecular mechanisms in C9orf72 ALS/FTD using a mouse model. Amrutha also worked on developing a Drosophila model for Gerstmann Straussler Scheinker (GSS) Syndrome as a Research Assistant from 2011 to 2013.
Before joining the University of Florida, Amrutha worked as a Research Assistant at Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation in 2010.
Amrutha Pattamatta, Ph.D., holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Neuroscience from the University of Florida, earned between 2013 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution, completed from 2011 to 2013. Their undergraduate education was completed at Anna University, where they earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Biotechnology from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, they also hold a certification in Genomic Data Science, obtained in April 2017 from Coursera Course Certificates.
