Dominic Hayakawa has a wealth of work experience, beginning with the British Army in 2005, where they held roles such as Training Manager, CIMIC Support Team, and CIMIC Officer. In 2009, they were enrolled in the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) at Cranfield University / UK Defence Academy, and also held roles such as Learning and Development Adviser, Director of Leadership Development, Professional Development Programme Manager, and Head of Learning and Leadership Development at the British Army. In 2019, they took on roles as a Consultant at Arke Ltd and Global KYC Training at J.P. Morgan. Dominic is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Aquila Learning since 2022.

Dominic Hayakawa's education history began in 1987 when they attended St Edmund's College, Ware. In 1994, they graduated from the University of Brighton with a BSc (Hons) in Geography. In 1998, they obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Geography) from the University of London. In 2003, they received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Post Compulsory Education & Training) from the University of Southampton and also attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Dominic then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Practice and Innovation at the University of Southampton between 2011 and 2013. Finally, in 2018, they attended the Alliance Manchester Business School and completed an Advanced Management Achievement Course.
