Matthew Calvert is a Research and Development Chemist at Aquafortus Technologies since November 2021. Previously, Matthew held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Auckland from October 2019 to October 2021 and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia from January 2018 to July 2019, as well as at Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research from September 2015 to November 2017, focusing on the design and synthesis of substrates for GalT-1, a galactosyltransferase from Caenorhabditis elegans. Early career experience includes working as a Laboratory Technician at Watercare Services Limited from November 2007 to December 2011. Matthew earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from The University of Auckland between 2012 and 2015, and holds Bachelor's Degrees in Chemistry and German Studies from the same institution from 2007 to 2011 and 2007 to 2010, respectively.
