Paul McAndrew has a diverse work experience in the field of security engineering and IT systems. Paul is currently working as a Lead Threat Detection Engineer at AppOmni starting from November 2022. Before that, they were a Lead Security Engineer, Security Operations at Chime from June 2021 to November 2022.
Prior to Chime, Paul worked at Salesforce for several years in different roles. Paul was a Lead Security Engineer, Threat Detection from August 2018 to June 2021, a Senior Security Engineer, Threat Detection from May 2016 to August 2018, and a Computer Security Incident Handler from January 2014 to May 2016.
Before joining Salesforce, Paul was a Network Security Analyst at Dell SecureWorks from August 2011 to January 2014. Paul also worked as an IT Systems Specialist at Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers from June 2008 to July 2011.
Paul's early experience includes working as a Helpdesk Technician at Gloucester County College from November 2004 to June 2007.
Paul McAndrew obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computing & Security Technology from Drexel University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009.
In terms of additional certifications, Paul holds various qualifications. In 2007, they obtained the CompTIA A+ certification, followed by the CompTIA Network+ certification in the same year. Paul also became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in 2007. In 2009, they earned the CompTIA Security+ certification.
In 2010, Paul became a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). The following year, in 2011, they obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council and also became a Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Enterprise Administrator (MCITP:EA). In 2011, they achieved the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) certification from the SANS Institute.
In 2012, Paul obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from the SANS Institute. Then, in 2013, they obtained two certifications: Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) from Offensive Security and GIAC Certified Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) from the SANS Institute.
