Will Luo has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering. Will started their career in 2000 as a Software Engineer at Jumbodyne Corporation, where they implemented an Apache plugin to record HTTP requests and their metadata. In 2001, they joined Applied Minds, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. Will then moved to Metaweb Technologies, Inc. in 2005 as a Lead Software Engineer. In 2007, they became a Technical Lead/Consultant at 24 Hr Diner, Inc., where they were the sole developer and built the first prototype of a recommendation engine for web sites based purely on past visits by anonymous users. In 2008, they joined TuneUp Media as a Senior Software Engineer. Will then moved to Invitor in 2012 as a Principal Server Lead. In 2013, they joined Gigaom as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2015, they became a Senior Server Engineer at Stitch Labs, Inc. In 2017, they joined Udemy as a Principal Infrastructure Engineer, Datastore Infrastructure Team, Senior Staff Engineer, Infrastructure Systems Team, and Sr. Platform Engineer, Systems Team. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Applied Invention as a Software Engineer.
Will Luo attended Stuyvesant High School from an unknown start to unknown end year. Will then attended Brown University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a B.S. in Mathematics-Physics. Following this, they attended the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1995, where they earned an M.S. in Computer Science.
