Afrooz Family is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and audio technology. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Apple since October 2021, Afrooz leads the software team for HomePod, contributing to features such as temperature and humidity sensing and UWB-based audio handoff. Previously, Afrooz co-founded Syng, acting as CTO from May 2018 to February 2021, where efforts focused on interactive spatial audio technologies. Earlier roles include Senior Audio Engineer at Apple and an R&D Engineering Intern at THX Ltd. Afrooz holds a Master's degree in Music, Science, and Technology from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of California, Berkeley.
