Emma Kelly is an experienced professional in the fields of cultural anthropology and archaeology, currently serving as the New Economy Field Coordinator at Appalachian Voices since May 2022. Prior to this role, Emma worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where responsibilities included teaching two sections of Intro to Cultural Anthropology. Emma has a strong background in research, having served as a Research Assistant at the UT Archeology Lab and received a Community Outreach grant to develop an Archeology-in-a-Box program for local schools. Additionally, Emma worked as an Interpretive Park Ranger for AmeriCorps, created wilderness programs, and maintained trails. Emma's volunteer experiences span various roles, including managing childcare and organizing fundraising for Appalachian Feline Friends. Emma holds a Master's degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Disasters, Displacement, and Human Rights, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
