Erik Bylund

Senior Solutions Architect at Apollo GraphQL

Erik Bylund has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Erik'smost recent position is a Solutions Architect at Apollo GraphQL, which started in December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Pluralsight as an API Software Engineer from August 2019 to December 2021. In this role, Erik primarily worked with Node.js to build GraphQL APIs that allowed Pluralsight customers and developers to create custom experiences using Pluralsight's platform and data.

Before joining Pluralsight, Erik worked at busybusy from March 2018 to August 2019. Here, they held the positions of Scrum Product Owner and Web Services Engineer. As a Scrum Product Owner, they prioritized tasks, led scrum meetings, and defined long-term objectives. As a Web Services Engineer, they deployed and maintained APIs, provisioned and architectured cloud infrastructure in AWS, and developed supporting microservices. Erik acquired additional skills in PHP, Kotlin, and designing complex systems using Amazon's cloud services during their time at busybusy.

Prior to busybusy, Erik worked at Techie For Life from July 2017 to August 2019 as a Lead Tech Coach. In this role, they taught web development and programming to neuro-atypical students, crafted individual assignments and curriculum, and developed a core course curriculum.

Additionally, Erik was a part owner of Pure Pickleball, a pickleball startup, from October 2014 to December 2018. Erik handled various responsibilities such as running the Ecommerce side of the business, website design and implementation, marketing, product research, and customer support.

Earlier in their career, Erik had internships as a Ruby intern at Rocketmade in 2014 and as a Web Intern at Dixie State University from 2013 to 2014. Erik also worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Hurrican Family Pharmacy from May 2013 to May 2014.

Erik Bylund attended Dixie High School from 2007 to 2009, but did not pursue a degree or field of study during this time. Later, from 2012 to 2016, Erik attended Dixie State University where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Technology in Web Design and Development. Additionally, they completed a minor in Computer Science during their time at the university.
