Joel Nichols has a diverse work experience starting from 1986. Joel began their career at Slater Steel, holding multiple positions for almost 8 years. In 1992, they became the CEO and owner of Apollo Design Technology. In 2004, they started their own company called Blue Pony, which specializes in building content for events and shows. Since 2013, Joel has been the CEO and owner of AVID Labs.

Joel Nichols attended Purdue University from 1982 to 1985. Prior to that, they attended Concordia High School from 1978 to 1981, and LHN from 1977 to 1978.
