Rene Jose Rodrigues Fernandes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Rene Jose began their career in 2003 at Integração - O Jornal do Povo Ltda., where they served as a Partner and later took on the role of Head of Sales Department until July 2021.

In 2007, Rene joined FGV as an Editor and eventually became a Senior Project Manager, a position they held until September 2019.

In 2010, they joined Ciclocidade - Associação dos Ciclistas Urbanos de São Paulo, where they worked as a Project Manager and later became the Financial Director. Rene Jose served in these roles until April 2018.

Rene also contributed to the entrepreneurial community as a Mentor for Startup Weekend from April 2011.

From March 2014, they served as a Board Member at ComparaBien.com.

In 2019, Rene joined Apical as the Head of Finance and later took on the role of Interim Operations Manager from June 2020. Rene Jose is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Apical from March 2022.

Rene Jose also worked as a Lecturer at Senac São Paulo from March 2010, where they taught topics related to entrepreneurship until November 2016.

In December 2013, Rene served as an Adviser for Let's Park.

In 2013, they worked at Espírito Santo Ventures as a Visiting Associate, responsible for designing new funds, supporting portfolio companies, conducting due diligence on potential investments, and providing guidance to companies entering the Brazilian market. Notably, they developed the first business plan for the fund FIP BRASIL ACELERADORA DE START-UPS, which is now known as FUNDO BR STARTUPS.

In 2022, Rene joined Fairbnb.coop as the Chief Financial Officer, a position they held until November of the same year.

Rene completed a postgraduate degree in Purpose Driven Business from Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas between 2015 and 2019. Rene Jose also holds a Master's Degree in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations from Fundação Getulio Vargas / FGV - EAESP, which was obtained between 2008 and 2010. Rene's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Administration from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas, completed from 2003 to 2006.

Before pursuing higher education, Rene attended Saint Benedict Catholic School in Derby, UK, from 2000 to 2001, during which they completed Sixth Form. Rene Jose also attended Colégio Objetivo for high school, although the specific duration is not provided.

In addition to their formal education, Rene has obtained several certifications. Rene Jose obtained a certification in Purpose Driven Business from Universidade Católica Portuguesa in July 2022.
