Mark Sharpley is a seasoned cloud platform engineer with extensive experience in technology leadership and network management. Currently serving as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer at Apheris since January 2025, Mark previously held the role of Principal Engineer at StatsBomb and Tech Lead for Platform Operations at AstraZeneca, where responsibilities included cloud and HPC engineering. Prior roles include Research Computing Specialist at the University of Cambridge, where Mark led the ISO27001 certified Secure Research Computing Platform, and Engineering roles at Strive Solutions, MONK'S WALK SCHOOL, and Beaumont School. Mark holds a BSc in Geography from the University of Hertfordshire, completed in 2009.
