John Dixon, Ph.D. has worked in the field of data analytics and artificial intelligence since 1995. In 1995, they began as a Co-Op at IBM. John then completed an Internship at MITRE in 1996, where they created and implemented a web-based graphical user interface for the MITRE intranet. In 1998, they became a Senior Database Designer & Web Developer at Spartan Internet Consulting, where they led development teams and was responsible for creating project schedules, budgeting, determining resource needs, conducting need analysis, designing databases, prototyping, coding, testing, deploying, and training. In 2003, they became a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at MITRE, where they directed the creation of a sensor AI prototype and analyzed the latest machine-learning technologies. In 2017, they became a Senior Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, where they spearheaded the development of a sensor AI prototype and pioneered and mentored a summer internship program in data science, machine learning, and mobile app development. In 2020, they became a NYU McSilver Institute Artificial Intelligence Hub Consultant, where they implemented artificial intelligence solutions and prototypes and provided clients with consulting services in data science, AI, and big data analytics. In 2021, they became the Vice President, Data Analytics at Aperio Global, LLC, where they are responsible for developing large-scale data analytics solutions for clients and has transitioned clients to modern architectures using machine learning and recommendation systems.
John Dixon, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Hampton University in 1996. John then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 1998. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 2003.
