Anthony Crisci, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of chemical engineering and catalysis. Anthony currently holds the position of Senior Process Development Engineer at Apeel Sciences since July 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Siluria Technologies, Inc. as a Staff Chemical Engineer, playing a crucial role in defining project goals, coordinating catalyst/material scale-up, and designing and operating production pilots.
Before joining Siluria Technologies, Dr. Crisci served as a Post Doctoral Scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they developed and utilized bifunctional mixed metal oxides and zeolites for catalytic upgrading of biomass derived oxygenates. During their time at MIT, they also built an ultra-high vacuum system coupled with an FT-IR spectrometer for in situ reaction analysis and catalyst characterization.
Earlier in their career, Dr. Crisci worked as a Post Doctoral Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and as a Graduate Student Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Anthony also gained valuable experience as a Scientific Research Assistant at Argonne National Laboratory, focusing on surface-substrate effects of immobilized proteins and studying physicochemical properties of novel soft materials.
Overall, Anthony Crisci, Ph.D. has demonstrated expertise in process development, project coordination, and catalyst development, making significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering and catalysis throughout their career.
Anthony Crisci earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a duration from 2001 to 2005. Anthony then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara, which they successfully completed between 2006 and 2011. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Introduction to Data Science in Python from Coursera in February 2019, and in Proficy HMI/SCADA iFix Fundamentals from GE Digital in July 2016.
