Jordi Martorell

Jordi Martorell has a diverse work experience. Jordi is currently the CEO & Co-founder of Aortyx, a company focused on developing vascular implants. Jordi has been working at Aortyx since 2018.

Prior to Aortyx, Martorell worked at IQS Barcelona starting in 2008. Jordi held multiple roles at IQS, including Head of the Vascular Engineering and Applied Biomedicine Group and Assistant Professor. Martorell also had a role as a Visiting PhD Student at the Harvard-MIT Biomedical Engineer Center from 2009 to 2012. During this time, they focused on simulating blood flow and designing arterial bifurcation vessel-like scaffolds for biological experiments.

Jordi'searlier work experience includes positions as a Process Engineer at Procter & Gamble in 2008, where they focused on improving the production process, and as a Process Engineer at Dow Chemical in 2007, where they analyzed and recalculated steam requirements for furnaces.

Martorell's career began in 2006 as a Healthcare Intern at Michael Page, where they were involved in candidate selection and assisted with recruitment processes.

Throughout their career, Martorell has demonstrated expertise in vascular engineering, fluid mechanics, and biomedical research.

Jordi Martorell began their education at the Universitat Ramon Llull, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from 2003 to 2008. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution, completing a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering Research from 2008 to 2010. Martorell went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the Universitat Ramon Llull, which they accomplished between 2010 and 2013. Moreover, they have also attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, although specific years or degree completion information is not provided.
