Jan Dams is an experienced zoologist specializing in avian care and husbandry, currently serving as the Curator of Birds and Head Animal Keeper at ZOO Antwerpen since September 2018. Prior roles include Assistant Curator at Antwerp Zoo - Planckendael KMDA from June 2017 to August 2018 and Biologist at Weltvogelpark Walsrode from September 2011 to May 2017, overseeing the care of 4,000 birds from 650 species, with a focus on handrearing and breeding. Jan Dams also has teaching experience in animal husbandry, specifically in rodents, horses, and dogs, from November 2010 to June 2011. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Antwerp and multiple Bachelor's degrees in Biology from Hasselt University.
