Kristel Shelton began their work experience as a Financial Aid Counselor at Tougaloo College in February 2005. Kristel held this role until June 2009. In November 2009, they joined Antonelli College as an Associate Director of Financial Aid, and their employment there is ongoing.

Kristel Shelton completed their undergraduate education from 1998 to 2002 at Alcorn State University. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness Management.
