Alexander Maekelberg is a seasoned professional in urban planning and strategic spatial planning, currently serving as Principal Advisor Klimaat & Ruimte at Antea Group Belgium since January 2019, having been with the company since October 2008 in various roles, including Urban Planner and Account Manager. In addition to corporate experience, Alexander has been actively involved in municipal governance as Chairman and former Vice-chairman of the municipal spatial planning committee for the Municipality of Kortemark since January 2014. Alexander's educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Strategic Planning and Urbanism from LUCA School of Arts, completed from 2003 to 2008, along with a high school education with a focus on Latin-sciences from Scholengroep Sint-Rembert.
