Ryan Hill has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ryan started their career in 2002 as a Trade Assistant at ICE Electrical Ltd, where they were involved in basic electrical work and general manual labor. In 2002, they moved on to TimberTest Laboratories as a Laboratory Technician, where they tested panel and engineered wood products for trial and export quality assurance. Ryan also conducted research on formaldehyde emissions from wood. In 2004, Ryan joined Taranaki NuChem as a Laboratory Technician, assisting with research and development of a pollen tube growth test and managing a research project on the inhibition of root growth in dicotyledon plants.
Ryan's academic pursuits led him to the University of Otago in 2008, where they worked as a PhD Candidate until 2012. Following that, they joined LanzaTech in 2013 as a Scientist. Ryan'stime at LanzaTech lasted until 2014, during which they conducted scientific research. In 2014, Ryan joined Anocca AB as a Lead Scientist Bioengineering, where they contributed to the field of bioengineering until 2017. Ryan then transitioned to the role of Head of Informatics and Automation at Anocca AB from 2018 until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Information Officer at Anocca AB.
Ryan Hill pursued their education in the field of biochemistry and biotechnology. Ryan began their academic journey in 2002 at the Western Institute of Technology in Taranaki (WITT), where they obtained a Diploma in Applied Science in 2003. In 2004, Hill continued their studies at the University of Otago, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2006. Ryan then advanced to pursue a Masters of Science in Biochemistry at the same university, which they completed in 2008. Hill further expanded their expertise by undertaking a PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Biofuels, with a specialization in Butanol, from 2008 to 2012 at the University of Otago.
